Golden Gate Bridge to Cavallo Point

A nice drive from the Golden Gate Bridge to Cavallo Point on a sunny Sunday.
To me, this movie is perfection
2:34 you can see how hurt and upset he is when he says that, his whole character is breaking.
This is one of many scenes revealing the ASSUMPTIONS they all have about each other - a central theme of the film. Bender assumes everything is all rosey at "big bri's house" but the earlier scene w Brian and his mother reveals otherwise. The hurt on Brian's face is a double whammy - he's made fun of for something that not only isn't true but pours salt in the wound. Then Bender gets a taste of his own medicine when Andy challenges Bender's honest portrayal of his home life. What a BRILLIANT film.
"You wanna come over sometime?" ha ha ha, I know it's a serious subject but that line is just really funny. Perfect timing.
I’m glad my dad is not like Bender’s Dad.
My parents graduated from high school in ‘82 and ‘83. They were “burnouts” who hung with people that grew up in homes like Bender’s. Truly heartbreaking to see such a depiction that my folks can relate to firsthand.
Little does Bender know that the life he's reenacting was nothing more than wishful thinking on Brian's part, since, if you haven't noticed from Brian's introduction at the start of the movie, his parents are the exact opposite of how Bender portrayed them. Brian's mom was a raging psycho b🤬h who pressured him to get straight A's, which is what led to Brian trying to kill himself, which she apparently had no sympathy for nor did it make her regret her s🤬y parenting and ease up on her son.
Makes me wonder how there lives was after high school there should have been a sequel of what became of each character ten years later
the fact that this guy a year later is voicing rodimus prime in the transformers movie fucks with my head completely
Bender is a perfect example of a abused child.
Why did Bender have gray hair?
Came here from Diary of a Battered Child
*”I am Bender. Please insert girder”*
I wouldn’t even want to see the Bloopers reel
Bender is just jealous because his father is physically and verbally abusive
I can 100% relate with bender growing up
So Dick didn't hear that rockus at the end?
I forgot the movie whats it called again
The Breakfast Club
the furst time i saw this scene i was a bit stunned
Is it me or is it the fact that this movie hits way too close to home and I feel like it almost even to the actors feel like when they have this part they knew how to take it and it was just like I just had to close to home for everyonebender Andrew Alice everyone I love this movie too bad will never get a sequel to this
Nobody knows what anyone’s going through until they tell you number one rule don’t judge a book by its cover I love this movie by the way vendor is me throwing through but this may speak volumes definitely one of my favourite Gen X movies of all time
my middle name is bender
Anyone wanna talk about how athletic it was for Bender to hop up onto the staircase like that 😂
See it's not that Andrew didn't believe Bender that really happened, but the fac that they had the same problems at home.
I'm glad I didn't experience this, my mom broke the cycle of abuse.
Dystopia
I can definitely relate to that growing up with much less freedom than most of my peers. 🙃
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays after he talks about life at his house???
The grass is never greener on the other side, Bender. Brian’s mom is a castrating misandrist harpy, the dad’s ⚾️⚾️ are in his wife’s purse (probably), and his little sister is a brat. It’s a different hell, same caliber to Benders’ (and the others’).
My name is John Bender
“Diary of a Battered Child” by Dystopia uses this as a sample and it’s done so well. definitely recommend listening to it
Herr andjelkovic und der Unbekannte: Was für ein Klischee 😂👍
😢
DIARY OF A BATTERED CHILD 🗣️🗣️
SMACK MY HEAD HITS THE WAALLLLL
Literally just found out where the samples from Diary of a Battered Child comes from.. fucking BREAKFAST CLUB
Bender stay in trouble
Me in school to another kid when I was in school
Dystopia: dairy of a battered child
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and most of the Benders in high school were actually rich kids putting on an act. So I can understand why Andrew made this assumption.
that's apple juice I CAN READ.
Classic
I love the choice of music used around 2:20. It has that rebellious angry feel.
My burn mark is on my right hand for reaching for seconds at thanksgiving without permission. Do I learn my lesson? The following year reached for seconds and got the carving knife between my thumb and index finger. This happened in the 60s, both scars are still there. Not a problem, makes for a good story with humor mixed into it… overall lesson is I can spot a abused or hungry kid a mile away. I see hungry weekly and we feed them, I give extra treats for them with the rule to eat dinner first!!! It works, give the parents treats also so they don’t feel bad or left out having to go to a pantry for help. And the weekend this movie was made was my last weekend living in NYC. Bender Rules still to this day!!! I’ll never change
Awww poor bwender
1:51
Bender is a saint these days
Don’t you (forget about me)
0:47-1:25 “Diary of a Battered Child” by Dystopia anyone?
YES SIRRRR
DYSTOPIA
FUCK YEAH
If there were an actor to play Bender's dad, it would undoubtedly be Al Pacino.
Not even close Bud. He doesn't look a itty bitty like Bender.
@@ericortega1745 I tend to picture Pacino with his usual intense outbursts while picturing him with Bender's hair and a scraggly beard (as seen in other films like Serpico and The Merchant of Venice). I can't see anyone else playing Bender's dad except Pacino.
